Waja Co. Announces Resignation and Appointment Audit Committee Member
Waja Company Announces the Acceptance of the Resignation of an Audit Committee Member and the Appointment of His Replacement. Waja Company announces that its Board of Directors, at its meeting held on Thursday, 17/01/1448 AH (corresponding to July 2, 2026), accepted the resignation of Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Sharif, an Audit Committee member from outside the Board of Directors.
The Board also appointed Mr. Alaa El Sayed Darwish, from outside the Board of Directors, as his replacement on the Audit Committee, effective from the date of the Board’s resolution until the end of the current Board term.
The Board of Directors expressed its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the resigning member for his outstanding performance and valuable contributions during his tenure on the Audit Committee, and wished him continued success and prosperity.
Mr. Alaa El Sayed Ali Darwish is a professional with specialized expertise in auditing, assurance, and financial advisory services, with over 25 years of professional experience. During his career, he has held leadership positions in several major professional firms, including Deloitte & Touche as an Audit Manager for more than 8 years, and Crowe Horwath as an Audit Manager for more than 10 years. He currently serves as Executive Director of Audit Services at Morrison Global Chartered Accountants and Consultants.
He has extensive experience in auditing a wide range of sectors, including banking, insurance, contracting, mining, industry, real estate investment, and government entities. His expertise also includes international standards, due diligence, feasibility studies, mergers and acquisitions, financial restructuring, and conversion projects from cash basis to accrual basis accounting.
Mr. Darwish holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting) from Cairo University, in addition to several professional memberships and certifications, including Fellowship of the Egyptian Society of Accountants and Auditors (ESAA), a Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), certification in International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), membership of the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA), membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), as well as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation and the Financial Fraud Examination Excellence Award 2024.
